Your first visit with Groover Family Dentistry is the time when Dr. Michael Groover will get to know you and your smile. During this first appointment, we will typically provide an oral cancer exam, TMJ exam, soft and hard tissue evaluation, and a review of your treatment options. In emergency situations, we can often complete or begin your treatment on the same day as the consultation. If you have a complex treatment plan or medical history, we may require an evaluation and second appointment to provide the treatment on another day.
To make certain that your first visit is as streamlined as possible, we ask that you bring the following information with you for your consultation:
- Any X-rays taken by a previous dentist
- A list of medications you are currently taking
- Please bring your insurance card so we can properly file your insurance
Please note that all patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you have a medical condition that may be of concern (e.g., high blood pressure, diabetes, rheumatic fever, artificial heart valves or joints, etc.) or any medications (e.g., anticoagulant therapy, aspirin, heart medication, etc.), please alert the office prior to treatment.
If your previous dentist or physician has taken X-rays, please request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time for them to transfer the X-rays, you may pick them up and bring them to our office. In the case that additional X-rays are needed, we will take them at our facility.
We hope you are as excited about your first visit as we are! For more information about what to expect your first visit, and to schedule your next appointment with our dentist in Savannah, Georgia, we invite you to call or visit us today!
