The Symptoms of Gum Disease

Posted .

Gum disease is one of the most serious and dangerous dental issues in the world today, which is why it’s best to prevent it at all costs. However, sometimes you can’t always fight the disease, so it’s best to keep an eye out for the many signs and symptoms that are related to the disease.

To help you recognize the symptoms of gum disease so you can receive treatment right away, our Groover Family Dentistry team recommends looking for the following signs:

-Gums that bleed while you brush your teeth. They might even bleed after you are done brushing
-Gums that are red, swollen, or tender
-Consistent bad breath or a persistent bad taste in the mouth
-Gums that are moving away from your teeth and exposing your tooth roots
-The formation of deep pockets between your teeth and gums
-Teeth that are shifting or have become loose
-The change in the way your jaws fit together when you bite down

If you have noticed one or more of these symptoms, we encourage you to call our office today at 912-354-9541 and schedule an appointment with your dentist, Dr. Groover, as soon as possible. The sooner you come into our office, the sooner you’ll be able to restore your oral health!
