Clean Your Chompers at Home with 3 Quick Steps

Posted .

Our teeth are important tools that aid in our everyday lives, and it is imperative to take great care of them. In order to have a pristine, clean, and healthy smile, dentists today strongly recommend participating in a daily oral hygiene routine. If you include the following steps in your routine, you are on the right track to success:

1. Brush your teeth: Spend two minutes every morning and every night brushing your teeth. While you brush, please use fluoride toothpaste if it’s possible. Also, spend an equal amount of time cleaning each quadrant of your mouth (approximately 30 seconds). By doing these things, the plaque and excess food will be removed from your smile.

2. Floss your teeth: Flossing is a task that is often forgotten, but it is extremely important. Please floss your teeth at least once a day. You can also carry floss with you throughout the day and floss your teeth whenever you feel is necessary. Use about 45 cm of floss and wrap each end around both pointer fingers. When you are ready, gently lower the floss between your teeth and rub each side of every tooth. Continue this process until you have cleaned your entire smile.

3. Use mouthwash: After you have brushed and flossed your teeth, use fluoride or bacteria-killing mouthwash to freshen your breath and nourish your chompers. Sip a small amount of rinse into your mouth and swish it around for about 30-40 seconds. When the time passes, spit the rinse into the sink.
