How to Help Your Discolored Teeth

Posted .

Did you know that Americans spend millions of dollars every year on teeth whitening? Fortunately, as you probably know, there are a few things you can do to keep your teeth healthy and bright. However, there are a few things that can stain your teeth—including a number of drinks.

Sadly, drinking too many sweet drinks can actually hurt your teeth and damage your enamel. Specifically, sodas can cause a number of serious issues because they’re high in sugar. This sugar may become acidic in your mouth and over time wear down your enamel.

Coffee can also stain your teeth, especially if you take it black. The tannins in tea can also stain your teeth, as can red wine. However, you can substitute red wines for white wines. Still, red wine may be an option to consider because it can also help you reduce inflammation in your gums, which can lead to gum disease.

In other words, you may be able to keep your teeth brighter by simply avoiding these drinks. If that isn’t something you want to do, you can also drink water after any of these beverages to rinse out your mouth.
