Sooth Your Dental Anxiety with Nitrous Oxide

Posted .

When many people notice that their dental appointment is coming up, their heart begins to race, they start to sweat, and they have the urge to jump back in bed and hide under their sheets. If you could be considered as one of these people, we are proud to tell you that we can help you have a better dental experience in no time!

With the help of nitrous oxide, which is also known as laughing gas, you will finally feel comfortable and relaxed in the dental chair. Nitrous oxide is a sedative combined with oxygen, and it is inhaled through the nose. When you are at our office and when you’re about to begin your dental treatment, your dentist will place a small mask over your nose and will ask you to deeply inhale for a few minutes. As time passes, you will begin to feel the effects of the sedative and you will finally feel comfortable in the hands of the dentist.

As you wear the mask and breath through your nose, the sedative will make you feel light headed and tingly. Your arms and legs might even feel a bit heavy. You will also be awake throughout your treatment, and you will be able to understand the dentist and communicate with the people around you. Once the treatment is completed and the mask is removed, the effects will wear off quickly and you will be able to drive yourself home.
